Silverchain has operated 11 Remote Area Nursing Posts on behalf of the Western Australian Country Health Service (WACHS) for some years. WACHS and Silverchain have agreed to transition these Remote Area Nursing Posts back to the responsibility of WACHS in 2024.

Silverchain has a very proud history of providing regional care, and will continue to, however this transition aligns to our core specialisation as a home and community care provider.

WACHS, as the designated state Health Service Provider in rural and remote Western Australia, is best placed to support the operation of Remote Area Nursing Posts into the future.

Silverchain and WACHS will continue to work together to ensure a smooth transition, with a shared focus on continuous high-quality care to the local communities.

Silverchain is greatly appreciative of the dedication and hard work that our Remote Area Nursing Post employees have provided to these communities over the many years and we’re thankful for the support these communities have provided us over that time.

Importantly, these nursing posts will continue to operate under WACHS to ensure services remain available to the community.

The Remote Area Nursing Posts are located in the Midwest (Leeman, Eneabba, Mingenew, Shark Bay), the South West (Walpole), the Goldfields (Eucla) and the Wheatbelt (Lancelin, Beacon, Bencubbin, Hyden and Brookton).
