Our Registrar training in Western Australia provides rich and diverse experiences in medical care in the community.
This program is available for both advanced trainees in palliative medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), and General Practice (GP) Registrars with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
During your placement you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience with a wide range of tasks and procedures within our Community Specialist Palliative Care service. Providing care to clients in home and community settings also allows you to provide greater person centered care and build more meaningful connections.
This is a comprehensive six month program designed to offer a structured and engaging educational environment. It includes opportunities to work with and learn alongside:
- Specialist palliative care consultants.
- Medical registrars and practitioners.
- A dynamic multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, spiritual care workers, support workers, allied health professionals, and volunteers.
GP Registrars can also complete the RACGP Clinical Foundation in Palliative Medicine program during this program. Our Palliative Care Consultant will be available throughout the program for advice, education and support.
