Our human rights based philosophy protects our clients’ autonomy, endorses their rights and supports their ability to choose where they receive their care.
As part of our day to day practice we ensure all of our aged care clients understand their rights in accessing aged care, and that we comply with the provider responsibilities under the Aged Care Act 1997.
All people receiving Australian Government funded residential care, home care or other aged care services in the community have rights, and the Charter of Aged Care Rights describes your rights as a consumer of Australian Government funded aged care services. A copy of the Charter is signed by our aged care clients, with one of Care Team members, as a commitment to respecting every person’s rights.

Our care teams also adhere to the Aged Care Code of Conduct for the sector, as well as our own Code of Conduct at Silverchain Group.
