A message from our Chair and Chief Executive
Silverchain’s innovative approach sets the benchmark of care at home, looks after everyday client wellbeing, and is supported by the latest technology and research, translated into state-of-the-art homecare.
In 2024-25, Silverchain Group proudly celebrated our 130th anniversary. This marks more than a century of commitment to caring for Australians and transforming the landscape of health and aged care at home.
As we celebrate our legacy, we reflected on how our care teams, our clinicians and our innovators, have helped pioneer world-class health and aged care for so many Australians. Our work has been guided by a deep commitment to care, connection, and innovation. Looking forward, we are committed to ensuring home and community care evolves to meet growing complexity and community need.
Across Australia, Silverchain has continued to care for clients with increasingly complex health needs: people living with high acuity conditions, multiple comorbidities, and often, significant social challenges. Our teams continue to deliver safe, personal, connected and effective care that allows people to remain safe and comfortable in their homes.
The year was one of reflection and renewal. We acknowledged and thanked Anne Skipper AM for her thoughtful leadership and contribution as Chair of the Board for 13 years. Under Anne’s stewardship, we strengthened our position as a leading not-for-profit provider, caring for thousands more people in their own homes.
This financial year also marked a significant step in Silverchain’s growth, with the acquisition of KinCare, a leading in home aged care provider on the east coast of Australia. The integration of KinCare’s people, clients, and expertise further strengthened our national footprint and scale to deliver health and aged care services to more Australians.
During 2024-25, our donors to Silverchain Foundation made a real impact, with their generosity enhancing community health and aged care services across the country. We are grateful for their unwavering support and the contribution many people made to help shape the future of care, and create value in the lives of tens of thousands of our clients.
This support has helped us advance vital research to improve the mental health of older Australians, including our world-first Enhanced Management of home-Based Elders with Depression (EMBED) clinical trial in Western Australia and South Australia, and scale innovative technologies like smart glasses to empower our clinicians and enhance care quality in the home.
Silverchain has embraced the opportunities presented by the Australian Government’s Support at Home reforms and broader aged care changes. We continue to advocate for improvements and remain committed to developing new models of care, technology, and research that push the boundaries of what is possible in providing quality care to more Australians. Our ambition is to create a better home care system for all Australians, and this includes our investment in Community Impact and Inclusion goals to ensure everyone has access to safe, high-quality care at home when they need it most.
As we reflect on 130 years of caring for Australia, we thank and celebrate the extraordinary people who continue to shape Silverchain’s legacy of care, connection and innovation.
