Silverchain will hold a series of free community information sessions across the Perth metropolitan area, Bunbury, and Busselton throughout March, April, and May to help older Australians and their families understand the changes to aged care under the new Support at Home program.

The sessions will provide clear, practical guidance on what the reforms mean for people receiving care at home, with a focus on supporting more Australians to live confidently and independently in their own homes for longer.

“At Silverchain, we’re committed to leading the way, setting the standard for quality, compassionate, person‑centred care, and supporting our workforce so every older Australian can live with confidence, independence and dignity,” said Lesley Balkwill, WA General Manager of Care Service Delivery.

Silverchain’s experienced local care team will outline how the new program works, what is changing, and how individual care plans may be affected. Attendees will learn about the new service categories, what the reforms mean for personal contributions, and the range of support options available to meet different needs.

People currently receiving support through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) are strongly encouraged to attend to understand how the transition from CHSP to Support at Home will occur.

Each session will include time for questions and the opportunity to speak directly with Silverchain staff.
