WA Health Minister opens new clinical service
Silverchain’s new service centre in Busselton was officially opened today, providing more clinic space for its clients in the region.
The new centre was officially opened by the Western Australian Health Minister Meredith Hammat who welcomed Silverchain’s ongoing commitment to serving the local community for many decades.
The new building allows Silverchain to increase its capacity for providing on-site clinical care, complementing the organisation’s expansive health and aged care services that are provided directly to clients in their own homes.
While Silverchain nationally started more than 130 years ago, its presence in Busselton dates back to 1926 when the organisation opened the Lady Campion Hostel for expectant mothers.
Silverchain’s Executive Director, WA, Renae Lavell, said the relocation to the new building would provide better clinical care spaces for clients and improved facilities for staff.
“For more than 30 years, we have continued to grow both health and aged care services to people in the region,” Ms Lavell said.
“In our new home base on Prince Regent Drive, we now have additional clinic rooms, allowing us to increase our capacity and do so in an environment that is better optimised for care delivery,” Ms Lavell said.
“This new building also gives our employees a work environment that is more conducive to a happy, healthy and effective work space.”
Silverchain services a large geographical area from the new service delivery centre that includes Busselton, Margaret River, Bridgetown, Manjimup, Pemberton, Boyup Brook and Augusta.
