Expand your knowledge on existing wound care, covering essential techniques and strategies to manage a variety of chronic wounds. 

Professor Kerlyn Carville leads our workshops with support from Silverchain Senior Research Fellow Dr Sharon Boxall, and GP Liaisons Dr Leena Patel and Dr Erin O’Donnell-Taylor. 

Learning outcomes

Those who attended the event were able to: 

• Utilise a framework for the assessment of wounds.
• Identify signs of biofilm/infection.
• Initiate appropriate wound care management based on patient, wound and environmental factors.
• Describe the features of different types of lower limb ulcers.
• Initiate appropriate treatment based on the type of ulcer.
• Identify when further assessments/investigations may be required.
• Demonstrate point of care assessments that can be performed in a primary care setting to aid diagnosis and management.
