The process to apply and wait for Home Care Package (HCP) funding can take up to three months. But you don't need to wait, there are other options you can consider.
If you have successfully completed a My Aged Care (MAC) assessment and are waiting to receive funding for a package you can still receive services while you wait.
Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) funding
During your assessment, you can ask your assessor if you can receive funding for CHSP services while waiting for your HCP.
CHSP provides funding for basic services to help you maintain your health and live independently at home. You may need to pay a small co-contribution fee for these services based on your financial circumstances.
If you require more services than what you can receive through CHSP funding, you can also self-fund more aged care services privately.
Self fund your services
You can choose to self fund any of our aged care services, whenever you need them. To receive services privately, you do not need to do a government assessment and can start receiving care without the wait.
Find out more about your private options here. Contact our Contact Centre at 1300 650 803 for national enquiries and 1300 650 264 for South Australia (SA) or complete our enquiry form to get started.
