In 2021-22, Silverchain changed the way we present ourselves to the community through our new brand. This was an important change that better reflects the complex community care we deliver every day.
The rapid changes in demand, technology, consumer choice and public policy have disrupted the dominant bricks-and-mortar approach and people are seeking better connected care in the safety of their own homes.
Our aspiration is to create a better home care system for all Australians.
Guided by our world-class research, supported with the latest technology and delivered with the human touch of someone who cares, we are the national leaders of complete care in the home.
In three simple words we aim to express what we do, how we work, and what differentiates us from others: Health. Human. Home.
Supporting Silverchain’s environmental sustainability was essential in the roll-out of the new brand. Our old uniforms have been recycled in a partnership with Upparel, and new uniforms are made of eco-friendly and more sustainable fibres. We also switched to 100% EcoStar paper stock, with fewer chemicals and less processing that traditional paper options.
In 2021-22 we developed our third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the first at Reconciliation Australia’s Innovate level.
We reiterated our commitment to fostering a fair and just health care system for all, and developed initiatives to improve our services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and contribute to reconciliation.
Silverchain recognises the disparities Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face in health, wellbeing, social and economic equality within Australia. We are committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to effect real change.
The Innovate RAP was developed through a codesign process with many stakeholders from across Silverchain’s national reach and will provide a framework to strengthen understanding between employees, stakeholders, and the community.
Silverchain continues to innovate new ways to provide the best care for Australians, create programs and systems which support our community, and optimise existing services to produce the best outcomes for our clients and those that support them.
With the support of our donors, our research team are working on how best to help those living at home with mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, while creating new tools to measure quality of life in the home, to tailor our care for our diverse client groups.
In 2021-2022, additional funds were raised for the integration of our specialist dementia palliative care program into our full care offering, and the improvement of respite care systems to help more carers access support for themselves and loved ones.
We thank all our generous donors for their support. To learn more about supporting Silverchain’s work, visit Donate.
