Celebrating 130 years of care and innovation.

In 2024-25, Silverchain Group proudly marked its 130th anniversary, a milestone that honours our people and their unwavering commitment to care, connection and innovation.

It was a year of reflection and celebrating the legacy of our pioneering founders, our deep roots in South Australia and Western Australia, and the colleagues whose dedication laid the foundations of Silverchain and its model of care that was remarkably ahead of its time.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the visionary leaders and nurses whose compassion and foresight created an unbroken chain of care. Their legacy lives on in the homes of generations of Australians, where health and aged care continue to be delivered with dignity, empathy, and clinical excellence.

We welcomed 1,300 new colleagues to Silverchain Group this year, with the acquisition on 1 July 2024 of KinCare. With strong values alignment between the two organisations, the acquisition provided an opportunity for Silverchain to expand its aged care operations on the east coast and continue to provide high quality care at home for these clients. Our people are now delivering high quality care under the Silverchain brand from coast to coast.

In 2024-25, the generous support of our Silverchain Foundation donors allowed us to empower our clinicians, care teams and innovators through the provision of scholarships and study assistance.

Eight employees received Care Scholarships to pursue postgraduate studies. These scholarships covered critical areas including nursing, palliative care, mental health, and dementia care. An additional 32 employees also accessed Study Assistance support, enabling them to engage in nationally accredited education and training programs to enhance their professional capability and improve client outcomes.

Best Care Awards Showcase

At Silverchain, we aim to deliver safe, personal, connected and effective Best Care to every client, every time. Each year we celebrate our employees at our annual Best Care Awards. The awards recognise our people who go above and beyond in their role and live our values of integrity, respect, trust and compassion every day.

Future Care Award

For designing and building a machine learning tool, a first for Silverchain, to help our care teams predict when our clients should transition from Commonwealth Home Support Program funding to a Home Care Package that would meet their increasing need for a higher level of care.

Best Care Award

Through collaboration and clinical expertise, the Western Australian Multidisciplinary Care Team achieved outstanding outcomes for a client with significant mobility challenges. Allied health clinicians provided targeted treatment, equipment, and tailored support, enabling remarkable progress in mobility and transfers, and delivering greater independence through effective use of home care funding.

Partnership Award

For driving major internal change initiatives, our Human Resources Advisory team streamlined ways of working, enhancing the employee experience while meeting evolving business needs that strengthened organisational capacity to navigate change effectively.

Agility Award

For their extraordinary flexibility and resilience during the unprecedented global CrowdStrike outage, which left millions of computers inoperable worldwide. The Digital Services team mobilised immediately, working around the clock and across the country to get our clinicians back online as soon as possible.

Prosperity Award

Clare has been recognised for inspiring others with kindness and understanding. She leads by example, asking thoughtful questions and encouraging respectful conversations. Her work helps people who haven’t faced marginalisation better understand the barriers others face, especially in health care.

Silver Star - Employee Choice Award

Donna, winner of the Silver Star Employee Choice Award, was recognised for her support of Bradley, a 54 year old Aboriginal Noongar man. Donna connected with him through shared cultural identity and provided personalised assistance, decluttering, meal preparation, and social connections that restored his independence and improved his wellbeing. Bradley expressed deep gratitude, crediting Donna’s support with transforming his life.
